 Rules and Information
« Thread Started on Feb 17, 2008, 8:27pm »

Welcome! ^^ This site was created so people can RP their original trainers, interact with others, and build their Pokemon dream teams. We're pretty laid-back around here so everyone can be as free as possible with their creative ideas. However, like all sites, we do have some rules for you all to follow to make this a better experience for everybody:

Respect: Although we don't expect everyone to get along with everybody here, we do want you all to at least be tolerable with each other. Don't go picking fights, don't try to offend others, don't discuss touchy subjects such as religion or politics, etc. Please be polite to everyone, and if you do have a problem with someone, please contact a staff member and he/she will take care of it.

Obey Admins/Staff Members: They are here to help, but if you're being disrespectful to them, then you may find yourself warned or even banned from the site. Don't do anything stupid, and you should be fine. ^^ Don't worry, most of us don't bite.

Accounts: In regards to accounts on this site, we would like there to be one account per original trainer. This means that when you sign up, your display name is to be the name (or something similar) of whatever trainer you are going to play on that account, and you may have as many accounts as you want. However, we warn you to not go crazy with creating accounts; two or three original trainers and accounts are a good amount to keep track of.

No Godmodding/Power-playing: Although it is very tempting, especially in Pokemon battles, please do not have any invincible characters, and do not control another member's characters. For example, you cannot have a Bulbasaur come through another member's Charizard's Flamethrower unscathed, and then say Bulbasaur's Tackle took out said Charizard in a KO. Those are big no-no's.

IC and OOC: IC stands for "in-character," meaning you are role-playing as your character. OOC means "out of character," and is for when you are not playing your character. While in the role-playing boards, we urge everyone to remain IC. If, for some reason, you have something to say OOC, then please clearly indicate that you are talking OOC by putting what you have to say in double parenthesis ((like this)), or by some other method.

Battles: When there is a Pokemon battle between yourself and another member, one of you should PM a staff member to moderate the fight. You should each take turns posting while periodically waiting for the moderator to jump in and either say to continue or to point out someone being unfair. For example, say the thread went with Player1 posting first, then Player2, Player1, Player2, then Moderator. If the Moderator says that you all are doing okay, then you can continue with the battle until the moderator jumps in again.

NPCs: Non-playable characters, or NPCs, are characters that are around but do not have a bio or specific RPer. These are usually your trainer's Pokemon (since we all know that they have their own personalities), wild Pokemon, Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, a random trainer, etc. You, the member, ARE able to play these NPCs as you see fit. However, please keep them in-character and where they would more commonly be seen. For example, a wild Tentacool would not be found in the middle of the desert in the Hoenn region, while Nurse Joy would certainly not leave her Pokemon Center to travel with you through Mt. Moon to heal your Pokemon's every wound.

Non-NPCs: There are certain characters that will have their own accounts and be played by staff members, such as Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and enemy teams. The Gym Leaders and Elite Four have designated locations, while the enemy teams will pop up once in a while to cause trouble. ^_^

(NPCs and Non-NPCs are covered more in-depth here.)

Characters: We want all ORIGINAL trainers on this site. Please do not create any copies of Ash, Brock, Misty, etc., from the anime/cartoons.

Posting: Double-posting with the same account on this site is highly discouraged. Post once and give others a chance to respond. If you find that you forgot something in your post, there is a modify button in the top-right corner of the post that you can use to add to the post. Also, there is no specific posting limit; you may post how little or how much you like. However, we do not want one-liners all over the place; make sure you post enough to give other people something to reply to. Put some effort into your posts!

However, us staff do understand the eager feeling of wanting to role-play. If your thread has not been responded to in a day or two, then you may add another post if the thread is not done yet. Or you can create a new account with another character and continue RPing with yourself.

Rating and Cussing: According to Proboards's rules, people under the age of 13 are not allowed to sign-up. In regards to that, this site is rated around PG to PG-13. Since we're all teenagers and we realize how "Gosh darn it!" just doesn't seem to work, you may curse mildly on this site. It's all going to be censored slightly, anyway, because of the site's settings.

Relationships: We staff members have nothing against trainers having relationships with other trainers. Crushes and loves are all well and good, but we must ask that there is to be no content that violates the rating and no instant-relationships. Take the time to build up the special relationship.

Activity: This is the key ingredient to any RP site! We will not bother you with Activity Checks. However, if your trainer is traveling with someone else's trainer and you don't show up/reply for a while, then don't expect that someone else to wait for you. If you know that you are going to be gone for a while, please post in the Away board to let us all know. Also, if you have not posted in over a month, you will receive a PM stating that your trainer's profile has been locked and moved to the Inactive Trainers board. In order to RP again, you must PM the staff member asking for your profile to be unlocked. This is just an effort to make the site neater and more organized.

**In addition to these, we are also complying with Proboards rules. Please follow those as well as these so this site doesn't get in trouble!**

Most importantly, we want everyone to have fun. ^_^ We admin sincerely hope that we won't have to warn, let alone ban, anyone on this site. If you have any questions about the rules, please don't hesitate to PM an admin.
